On a summer afternoon, after the rain had passed, I found you in the shadow beneath

the trees. Damp earth clung to your skin, steeped in the moisture of the air, softening your form as a faint glow wavered over you. Though you appeared a little disheveled, the dampness only made the crimson beneath your skin more vivid—like a ripened fruit, trembling ever so slightly in the first slivers of sunlight.
